Its first graduating class was in 1900. 1939: The first football team was established at Katy High School. 1941: 17 seniors graduated. 1942: During the 1942-1943 school year the mascot was changed from Kangaroos to the Tigers. 1947: The campus was moved to its current location at US Highway 90 and FM 1463 in 1947. Seventh and eighth grades were included on this campus until 1965. 1952: The band hall and vocational building were constructed south of the building. 1955: Katy High School held graduation for 40 seniors. 1960: A total of 53 graduate. 1977: The capacity of the campus was expanded from 800 to 1600. The Katy ISD school board approved a drill team for the 1977–1978 school year that would be called the "Red Brigade" (students and advisers would change the name to "Bengal Brigade" before the start of the school year). May 1977: 195 seniors walked across the stage at Tiger Field. May 1979: 296 seniors graduated from KHS. May 1981: This was the last full graduating class for Katy high school students (approximately 450); the 1982 graduating class was split between two Katy area high schools. 1981: The last varsity football game was played at Tiger Field before moving to Rhodes Stadium. 1984: The tiger-head logo was designed, replacing the simple letters "K.T.". 1985: The weight room and field house were expanded. 1992: 360 seniors graduated from KHS. 1995: The adjacent junior high school was converted into a 9th grade center, called West Campus. The largest entering freshman class occupied the building. 1997–98: Katy was named a National Blue Ribbon School〔(Blue Ribbon Schools Program, Schools Recognized 1982–1983 Through 1999–2002 (PDF) )〕 May 1997: 518 seniors graduated from KHS at the Astro Hall in Houston. 1998: A photo, which can now be found in the KHS trophy case in front of the competition gym, was taken of Bill Murray alongside the KHS Band in conjunction with the filming of the movie Rushmore. 1998: A new library and hallway were completed between the main building and West Campus. May 1998: 551 seniors graduated from KHS at the Astro Hall in Houston. May 1999: Making history, KHS's largest graduating class of 660 seniors walked across the stage at the Astro Hall.〔Danielle Erickson, Class of 1999〕 Summer 2001: Amid renovations to remove asbestos, 80% of the pre-1977 campus burned. The fire did not cause problems so much as it just sped up the teardown process. Due to their separation from the main building, the freshman campus, vocational building, band hall and athletic facilities (field houses and natatorium) were spared; the rebuild would connect them to the main building and give them much needed facelifts. May 2003: The class of graduating seniors broke Katy High School's previous record with a graduating class of 666 students. To this day this is still the largest graduating class from KHS. 2004: The Performing Arts Center and classroom expansion was completed, increasing the student capacity to over 3,000. A new rodeo arena was finished behind the high school.〔History of Katy by Roberta Rylander〕 May 2005: Graduation ceremonies were moved from Houston to Merrell Center, located at KISD headquarters behind the school. May 2007: 474 seniors graduated. May 2008: 497 seniors graduated. Winter 2011: The brigade and wresting gyms were torn down, as well as the old auditorium. Spring/summer 2012: Construction began on the new brigade gym, choir room, and freshman campus. December, 2012: Katy won its 7th state title, becoming state and national football champions. Summer 2013: Construction was completed on the brigade and wrestling gym, choir room, and freshman campus. 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Katy High School」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
